National LM3886 High Performance Audio Power Amp Datasheet - National LM3886 known as a high performance audio power amplifier which utilized Self Peak Instantaneous Temperature (SPiKe)
protection circuitry, and provided an LM3886 Typical Audio Amplifier Application Circuit Diagraminherently, dinamically protected Safe Operating Area (SOA).
With this SPiKe, the device are protected at the output against overvoltage, undervoltage, overloads, including shorts to the supplies, thermal runaway, and instantaneous temperature peaks, according to the datasheet.
This LM3886 capable of delivering 68W continuous average output power into 4 Ohm at VCC = ±28V, 38W continuous average output power into 8 Ohm at VCC = ±28V, 50W continuous average output
power into 8 Ohm at VCC = ±35V and typically used in applications such component stereo, compact stereo, self-powered speakers, surround-sound amplifiers, and stereo TVs.
