MC33099 Voltage Regulator PIN Functions Diagram - The MC33099 Adaptive Alternator Voltage Regulator is intended to manage the output voltage in diode-rectified alternator charging systems common in automotive.
The MC33099 functions a feedback voltage to identify an alternator field current that is in balance with system load power.
This MC33099 voltage regulator provides accurate output voltage control over a wide variety of temperature, electrical loads, and engine RPM.
Load Response Control (LRC) is achieved by selecting the duty cycle for existing engine situations to remove engine speed searching and vibrations due to abrupt torque loading at low RPM. Four LRC rates are selectable by linking hooks 7 and 8 to ground.

Controls the GATE of the MOSFET to control the alternator field current.
Primary power connection to the system battery.
Source lamp current and digital ground.
Controls the Fault Lamp current.
Controls the Fault Lamp internal driver as an override function.
Controls the ON or OFF function of the regulator.

Coupled to source of MOSFET to provide a GATE voltage reference and to monitor for source shorts to ground.
