Pulse-Generator Circuit Diagram of Electronic Tachometer Using LM317 - The pulse-generator circuit diagram of electronic tachometer is shown in the following figure.

The circuit consists of an LM317 voltage regulator, a comparator, and the NE555 timer. Resistor values are in KOhm, the capacitors in uF.

The LM317 will generate a DC voltage for accuraccy purpose since it remains constant as the temperature and battery voltage may vary.

An LM311 comparator is used to detect the pulse from the pulse-cleanup circuit and to trigger NE555 timer.
